I’ve put in my time….

”Ive put in my time”

I’ve heard the above phrase SOO many times throughout my career.

I used to think that it meant something

Then I started seeing patterns

These patterns revealed that this saying consistently was a last-ditch effort for persuasion

Let me give you an example:

“I’m bigger so I should….”
“I’m older so I should….”
“I’m have more $$$ so I should …”

How is the first phrase any different that the above 3?

This is demonstrated every time I go against this one guy at jiu jitsu.

We are both white belts.

He has a couple of stripes and he puts in more work than me.

We have the same amount of time going, he goes more though.

I’m bigger and stronger though.

I have like 50 lbs on him.

He taps me consistently.

I just try to survive when I go against him.

You see it doesn’t matter how much time you’ve been doing something

It matters what you’ve done with that time

We don’t get what we want or think we deserve

We get what we are ruthlessly committed to accomplishing
